One of the most critical challenges facing modern metropolises' is the problem of effective and efficient Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM). Large populations, rapid industrialization, perpetual infrastructure building along with improper municipal facilities further exacerbate the situation. A dynamic MSWM system, in order to have the desired impact, needs to take into account these facets of MSWM and keep improving upon the provision of municipal facilities. This will have a positive impact on both the environment and aesthetics of the area. Despite its criticality and sensitivity, MSWM continues to remain a neglected area of urban development in India.
