摘要

The Q factor of a microwave resonator consisting of an uniform circular dielectric rod excited by HE11 n and E01 modes and terminated at both ends by circular metal plates has been derived. The constant percentage power contour for both the modes show that most of the energy is located within the resonator and very little is lost by radiation outside the resonator.
