On Formal Representation of Procedure Knowledge and its Application to Interactive Electronic Technology Manual

The Interactive Electronic Technology Manual isa core element of the equipment support, and using informalmeans to express automatic reasoning and consistencychecking of knowledge systems that can not be carriedthrough by process knowledge. This paper, in cognizance ofthe high frequency of procedure description in IETM,taking troubleshooting process as an example, puts forwarda procedural representation based on labeling transitionsystem, and realizes the XML file storage in proceduredescription. As a result, the machine can read and operatethese data. Meanwhile, this paper designs a quantitativecalculating method of process semantic proximity to providea candidate set of semantic proximity sorting as the result ofprocedural knowledge retrieval. Compared with existingmethods, this method uses status to express the programnode information, characterizes change of state by action,and comprehensively considers human-computerinteractions. The XML-based procedural representationand storage facilitate interoperability between multiplesystems. The formal representation of process knowledgewell characterizes the fault diagnosis process in the projectof Interactive Electronic Technology Manual.
