At present, urban transportation planning in our country is facing the pressure of increasing traffic demand and environmental protection requirements, so it has to be optimized and reformed. Therefore, from the point of view of the carrying capacity of traffic environment, the theoretical research of urban ecological transportation planning was put forward. In this paper, firstly, the connotation of urban ecological transportation planning and the research status at home and abroad were expounded in detail; then, the traffic environment carrying capacity was quantified by intelligent calculation; eco city traffic demand targets were selected as indicators for research; finally, through intelligent calculation method, the traffic environment carrying capacity of traffic planning of X city in the next 5 years was evaluated; according to the results, suggestions were proposed for the traffic planning of X city..
