Thermoacousticprimemoverisanenergyconversiondevicewhichconvertsthermalenergyintoacousticwork(soundwave).Theadvantagesofthismachinearethatitcanworkwithairastheworkinggasanddoesnotproduceanyexhaustgases,sothatitisenvironmentallyfriendly.Thispaperdescribesanexperimentalstudyonastandingwavethermoacousticprimemoverwithairastheworkinggasatvariouspressuresfrom0.05MPato0.6MPa.Wefoundthat0.2MPaistheoptimumpressurewhichgivesthelowestonsettemperaturedifferenceof355°C.Thispressurevaluewouldbemorepreferableinharnessinglowgradeheatsourcestopowerthethermoacousticprimemover.Inaddition,wefindthatthelowestonsettemperaturedifferenceisobtainedwhenrh/δkratiois2.85,whererhisthehydraulicradiusofthestackandδkisthethermalpenetrationdepthofthegas.Moreover,thepressureamplitudeofthesoundwaveissignificantlygettinglargerfrom2.0kPato9.0kPaasthechargedpressureincreasesfrom0.05MPaupto0.6MPa...
