Micro-PowerManagement(μPM)isessentialtosupplypowertoautarkicsensornodesfromenergyharvestingsources.AstherearenumerouswaystorealizeaμPM,thequestionarisesofhowtobenchmarkdifferentmanagementsunderreproducibleboundaryconditions.Inthispaperwepresenttheseconditionsforsolarharvesting.Further,weproposeasystemefficiencydefinition,whichisapplicabletoallself-poweredsystems.Forverification,weuseourmodularconstructionkit,whichisusedtosetupfourdifferentμPMconfigurations.Weexaminedtheinterplayofstate-of-the-artpowerconverterswithasupercapacitorarray.Asoneresult,theimprovementofusingabuckconvertercomparedtoanLDOwasquantifiedbyanincreaseof10percentagepointsinthesystemefficiency.Theexperimentsshowthatthemodularsetupandtheboundaryconditionsaresuitableforsuchinvestigations...
