摘要

In this study the effect of mesophilic and thermophilic temperature on Bonny light crude oil degradation was tested on the freshwater and salt water media. To this end the pH, optical density, refractor index, specific gravity, density, microbial population and viscosity were determined using experiment analysis. Experiments were performed using environmentally relevant concentrations of the test substances in the batch reactor. The mesophilic temperature is within the range of 18-35°C and thermophilic is within the range of 35-75°C; the research was conducted within the temperature range of 27-80°C, it is seen that a temperature range of 27-35°C (mesophilic) there was increase in microbial population, decrease in Bonny light crude oil concentration, decrease in pH, increase in optical density for both fresh and salt water. Under the thermophilic temperature (35-75°C) the characteristics of the process is the same as that of mesophilic temperature. This paper can be found useful in monitoring and predicting the degradation of Bonny light crude oil upon the influence of mesophilic and thermophilic temperature usingPseudomonassp. in Niger Delta Area of Nigeria.
