摘要

The beekeeping is one of the most important sources of additional income for the rural people. It has a precious or asignificant role in the socio economic development of the rural people by providing them a livelihood. The beekeepers can alsoget the extra income by selling and manufacturing of beekeeping equipments, bee colonies, and other bee products. The ruralpeople of the Dantewada district have been highly benefited by the beekeeping project which is initiated by the DistrictAdministration Dantewada (C.G.) and the project was implemented in the KVK, Dantewada in order to upliftment of the ruralpeople. The bees played a vital role in the reproduction of the crop plants by exchanging the pollens from one plant to anotherplant which leads to uniform flowering, more numbers of seed and proper setting of fruits and nuts. Bees mainly served or makeup the pollination up to 75-80 percent among all crops its increases the production up to 30-40 percent more per unit areacomparatively non-pollinating crops. A bee’s pollinated crop has the resistance and tolerance capacity against the infestation ofinsect pests and diseases. Dantewada district is situated at South Bastar region of the Chhattisgarh state which is surrounded byforest has a vast resource of bee flora for sucking up the nectar and collection of pollen grains to produce better quality ofhoney. In general, Dantewada district has a low production of crop as compare to the plain region. Beyond it bees havesignificantly increased the production of major growing crops of the district by pollination such as; miner millets, groundnut (2-10%), horse gram, pigeon pea (20-28%), Mung bean, Field pea, and black gram (28.7-75.3%), niger (36.5-243%), mustard(130.1-155%), beans (450-600%), tomato, okra (10-90%).
