Aweightedleastsquare(WLS)andordinaryleastsquare(OLS)approachforanalysingfishlength-weightrelationships,wasapplied.Wereviewedandcomparedtworegressionmethodsusedinstatisticstoreconstructlength-weightrelationshipfromPor’sGoatfish(UpeneusporiBen-TuviaGolani,1989)length-weightdatainIskenderunBay.Thiscomparisonreliesonasuiteofregressionmodelverificationstatisticstovalidatetheaccuracyofthelength-weightrelationshipproducedbythebestmodel.TheresultsindicateWLSmayperformslightlybetterinheteroscedasticdata;conversely,OLSmayperformslightlybetterwhenthedataishomoscedastic.
