An overview of theoretical models describing the deformation-induced segregation (DIS), most of which see non-equilibrium diffusion fluxes of point defects to grain boundaries as the main factor of segregation, is presented. The possibility of an adequate description of DIS in binary and three-component alloys is shown. The results of the works on the atomistic modeling of DIS processes, including the first-principle methods, are presented.
