STUDIES ON STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OF THE STEM OF HOPS

This paper presents experimental results for several years on the structural elements of the stalk to 63 varieties of hops in the collection of germplasm from University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca (six early varieties, 11 half-early varieties, 26 half-late varieties and 20 late varieties). The results shows the variability existing in the studied biological material on the following quantitative characters: plant height, number and length of the internodes, height of insertion of the first flowering shoot, number of shoots on the string and length of the lateral shoots.
