Nausea and vomiting persisting more than 2 weeks aftera pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple operation), besidesprolonging hospitalization, can delay adjuvant therapy.1,2This is usually managed with temporary feeding tubesand decompressive tubes (nasogastric/percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy [PEG]).1 However, inability to eat has asignificant effect on the patient’s quality of life. Dilationscan be helpful once healing has occurred.3-5.
