First record of Tupinambis teguixin Linnaeus, 1758 (Squamata: Teiidae) for the state of Piauí, northeastern Brazil

Tupinambis teguixin Linnaeus, 1758 (Squamata: Teiidae) is reported for the first time in the state of Piauí. The species occurs in forests and open areas, throughout Amazonia, including French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.
