World Wide Web is a global information network that affectsmany fields of our lives. The distributed, interlinked, visual andheterogeneous structure of the web makes it an irregular developmentenvironment. In this paper we propose a pattern based approach forincreasing the effectiveness of development for the Web environment. This approach is based on the representation of the core meaning ofeach design as a set of patterns and requires the formulation ofabstract solutions in a mathematical precision. This way not onlyreusable design experience will be codified unambiguously, but asmooth transition between the design and implementation phases will berealized.
