摘要

The capacity (the maximum number of users per sector thatthe system can support) and the interference statistics (expectedvalue and variance) of sectors composed of cigar-shaped WCDMAmicrocells are studied. A model of 5 microcells is used to analyzethe uplink capacity and interference statistics. The microcells areassumed to exist in rural zone highways. The capacity and theinterference statistics of the microcells are studied for differentnon-uniform spatial traffic distributions. As user density decreasesaway from the base station, the capacity of the sector increases dueto the reduced total power transmitted by the interfering users.
