A call for increased collaboration between environmental health scientists and lawyers

Scientific evidence is the foundation of environmental and health-related policies and strategies.1Best practices to promote the use of research evidence in policy making include timely and relevant findings, production of credible reports, and findings that can be translated into actionable recommendations. Despite recognition of these best practices, the gap between research and the translation of findings into policy and practice is wide, especially in low-income and middleincome countries (LMICs).
