Induction motors has become a dependable industrial process component, yet the power demand by induction motors is high comparedto other power appliances. Therefore, the efficient use of energy in the application of consuming appliances is solicited by powerproducers. There is a need to physically redesign the induction motor to make them more energy efficient than the normal motors. Onethe ways of doing this is to convert the normal three phase machine into multiphase. Common among the multiphase systems is the sixphase due the ease of conversion from the normal three phase to six phase. The merits of multiphase compared to the three phasecounterpart are numerous. Therefore, this paper investigates torque improvement using a six phase induction machine. The paper modelsand simulates six phase induction machine and compares the results with that of a simulated three phase machine. The results show that, there is torque improvement in the six-phase machine, a merit that could be deployed in industrial drive systems.
