摘要

In order to establish magnesium alloys in industrial applications, new alloy systems with an excellent property profile as well as suitable processing technologies are required. Magnesium alloys containing Ca offer a significantly improved formability due to the modification of the rolling texture. Applying innovative processing techniques allows the production of magnesium strips offering good mechanical and technological properties. In the present paper twin roll casting combined with strip rolling was used to produce strips of Ca-containing magnesium alloys (ZAX210, MX20) with a final thickness of 2 mm for comparison. Microstructural characteristics, mechanical properties and formability of the sheets are represented in comparison to commonly used magnesium alloys (AZ31, ZE10).
