摘要

This paper proposes the virtual reality concept to design and assembly planning for a barrel shaft. The shaft model was created on CAM and digital verification for effective functional design together with simulation as traditional method. Presently, virtual reality technology is sophisticated to mechanical components design and assembly animation which can help a design engineer in order to show possibility alternative assembly planning and achieve optimization. Collaborative virtual environment system was used to create the assembly plan animation.
