Contribution à l'étude des liaisons Loire-Seine?: mise en évidence par l'étude des minéraux lourds de l'antécédence de la Loire en Sologne (Bassin Parisien, France)

The heavy minerals and the varietal characteristics of clinopyroxene grains (CPx) in alluvial deposits and other surficial formations located on the Loire-Seine interfluve show that no Loire-Seine connection has occurred since at least the Upper Pliocene. High percentage of green CPx in the NNW of Gien testifies of an old Loire terrace prior to the Pleistocene Ft terrace where brown CPx are prevalling. The rapid decreasing to the north of grenat and CPx is explained by removed Loire material and not by direct fluvial Loire transport.
