This article is primarily directedtowards UK-based readers. Makingsense of the new regulations forsubmission of scientific publicationsto the next UK Research ExcellenceFramework exercise (REF2020) aswell as the requirements imposedby research funders such as theMedical Research Council (MRC) andBiotechnology and Biological SciencesResearch Council (BBSRC) (referredto collectively as Research CouncilsUK) and medical charities is not easy.We would therefore like to take thisopportunity to explore some of thekey aspects surrounding complianceto these policies, how they relateto British Pharmacological Societyjournals, and provide links to someresources that may be useful to ourmembers when considering submittingresearch outputs to REF2020.
