In this edition of Pharmaceutical Methods, I amimpressed by the number of articles that use astheir means of analysis Liquid Chromatographywith UV/Diode Array Detection (DAD). Five ormore years ago, the predictions were that all suchUV/DAD would be by now replaced by LiquidChromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC–MS)technologies. LC–MS technologies were heralded asinfallible as they are highly sensitive and selectiveeven in the presence of multiple compounds within??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????analogues and isomers, are high mass accuracytechnologies that could discern between isobariccompounds or between co-eluting compounds, andtheir ability is seemingly endless.
