Nutritional status at diagnosis of cancer: are we underestimating the problem?

Multidrug resistant organisms (MDRO) present a significantchallenge to extremely vulnerable children especially HSCT recipients.Their incidence at the time of admission was as high as 42% in our cohort.Prior knowledge of their existence by Carba-R screening resulted in earlyaddition of appropriate antibiotics and helped reduce mortality due tobacterial sepsis by 50% from 6% in Group 1 with no surveillance to 2.9% inGroup 2 with surveillance.
