Picc Line Fracture And Embolization Into Pulmonary Artery- A Rare But Potentially Life-Threatening Complication: A Case Report

摘要

Intensive phases of acute leukaemia therapy are back bonefor curing the disease and increasing overall survival. On the other hand,intensive phase of the leukaemia therapy is complicated by susceptibilityto infections. Increased susceptibility to infections is caused by neu-tropenia, deranged B cell and partly Tcell function secondary to leukaemiaand its therapy, infections are also increased by use indwelling intravenouscatheters, chemo-ports etc. There is increase in gram negative infectionsand change in their antibiotic sensitivity pattern. This analysis was done tostudy the incidence of infection during first six months and their impact onoverall survival.
