Wehavedetectedperiodicflaresofthe6.7-GHzmethanolmaserfromanintermediate-massstar-formingregionIRASa€‰22198+6336.Themaserwasmonitoreddailyin2011,2012,and2013.Sixflareswereobservedwithaperiodof34.6a€‰d.Thevariationpatternisintermittent,andthefluxratiooftheflaringandthequiescentstatesexceeds30.SuchintermittentvariationwiththeshortperioduniquelycharacterizesthevariationoftheIRASa€‰22198+6336maser.Atleastfivespectralcomponentswereidentified.Thespectralcomponentsvariedalmostsynchronously,buttheirpeaktimesdifferedby1.8a€‰d.Thesecharacteristicscanbeexplainedbythecolliding-windbinarymodel.
