style="text-align: left;">Maximum economy of material in prestressed concrete roof construction indicates that the foists be sloped to a maximum depth at the peak with an absolute minimum depth at the supports. Using this criterion, a series of single tee foists were developed for use with modular forms. The area at the support is increased by increasing the width of the flange to the full width of the foist. Some of the problems of design are discussed.
