摘要

Fungi associated with diseased conditions in Irvingia gabonensis (Baill) seeds were isolated from these seeds. A representative species of the fungi (Aspergillus oryzae) was deployed to a Spent Engine Oil (SEO) polluted field. By the 6~(th) month, A. oryzae caused over a 99% reduction in the level of the initial Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) present on the spillage site. In addition, this fungus also caused a significant (P<0.05) increase in the level of some soil macronutrients in the polluted soil.
