摘要

The aim of this study is investigating the influence of topography data overRomanian territory on the numerical weather forecast of the WRF (Weather Researchand Forecasting) model in cases of severe weather events. The WRF model was runfor two different weather events: 17 July 2011 and 3 February 2012. In both cases,heavy precipitation and strong wind were registered on Romanian territory.Topography data were used at three horizontal resolutions: 2 minutes, 30 seconds and3 seconds. The use of the topography data at these resolutions resulted in differencesbetween the numerical weather forecasts of the WRF model.
