Rehabilitación neuropsicológica de pacientes hospitalizados con trauma encefalo-craneano en fase subaguda: estudio piloto en la fundación Instituto Neurológico de Antioquia/Colombia

Introduction: The early-onset neuropsychological rehabilitation can be performed on an inpatient sub acute phase that have had traumatic brain injury (TBI), in order to intervene the period of post-traumatic amnesia (PTA), seeking to mitigate the confusional symptoms and reduce their duration. Objective: Apply Neuropsychological rehabilitation patients with TBI in the sub acute phase intervention aimed at counseling and mental alertness. Materials and methods: Sample: 20 patients with TBI hospitalized at the INDEA/Colombia in the sub acute phase, each underwent cognitive assessment and advice to families and seniors met the criteria for intervention. Results: We analyzed medical history, neurological and medical characteristics, clinical neuropsychological, using percentage, mean and standard deviation. Conclusions: It is important in neurological hospital has the neuropsychological consultation services, for assessment of patients and design treatment programs useful for stimulating the TBI patient's cognition and intervention.
