FAKE NEWS, Telecommunications and Information Security

摘要

The article reviews one of the most topical issues in 2017 – fake news. It clarifies thesemantic difference between “fake” and “false news”. The main reasons for the increasing rate ofspreading of fake news – the ubiquitous use of telecommunication tools and the human factor – areexplored. Pragmatic practices are pin-pointed to detect fake news and verify its (in)authenticity, thusensuring the information security of a person and society.
