Mapping the spread of lumpy skin disease using WAHIS data

摘要

The noti?cation of a lumpy skin disease (LSD) outbreak by Greece in August 2015 represented the ?rst reported incursion of the virus into the European Union (EU) [1, 2]. This alteration to the geographical distribution of LSD highlighted the importance of: (i) implementing effective surveillance and control measures; and (ii) developing a more comprehensive understanding of the transmission dynamics and risk factors promoting virus dissemination.
