In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1.4 of the Aquatic Animal Health Code 2009 and with Chapter 1.1.4 of the Manual of Diagnostic Tests for Aquatic Animals 2006 of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), Argentina declared as free from epizootic haematopoietic necrosis, infectious haematopoietic necrosis, viral haemorrhagic septicaemia and infectious salmon anaemia the zone 'Upper watershed of the Limay River' (which includes the Alicura reservoir as far as the Alicura hydroelectric dam). As the previous disease situation for all the diseases was unknown, the recommendations in point 3, Article 5 of Chapters 10.1, 10.4, 10.5 and 10.9. of the Aquatic Animal Health Code concerning disease-free zones or compartments were followed.
