The British travellers who visited Oradea in the 19 th century observe its multiethnic structure and refer to all ethnic groups of the city. The architecture of Oradea is also carefully described. The travellers present the ecclesiastical character of the city and the religiosity of the inhabitants, but, at the same time, are impressed by the life-loving attitude of the people who often manifest their joy of living
