Efectos de la incorporación de fuentes residenciales en mecanismos de compensación de emisiones industriales de PM10

This article discusses a case study oriented to analyze the compliance cost for reducing PM 10 (Particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter ≤10 μm) emissions from industrial sources and residential wood burning. The results show that it is more efficient, from an economic perspective, to reduce PM 10 emissions from residential sources than the emissions from industrial sources. If the Environmental Authority only targets industrial sources for emission reductions, it would be more cost-effective for them to offset PM 10 emissions through programs oriented to upgrade current residential wood heaters.
