Th present work aims to observe the ginosporogenesis and embryo sac development of Passiflora suberosa. Ovules of Passiflora suberosa are anatropous, bitegmic and crassinucellate. The nucellus presents a trizonate structure. Teguments become from periclinal divisions in dermal layer, as same as, the first record for the genera. Periclinal divisions occurs in archesporial cells forming, outer, the primary parietal cell, and inter, the sporogenous cell. The archesporius is unicellular and the meiosis in ginosporocyte originates a linear tetrad. The chalazal ginospore become into the Polygonum type embryo sac. Antipodals are persistent until mature stage. The middle cell presents a big vacuole and the two polar nucleous are fusioned before anthesis. Sinergids show a conspicuous fibrilar apparatus, similar to the genera description. Related patterns like no callosis detection in tetrad, the presence of a lot of starch in adult phase and aspects of reproductive biology of genera are discussed.
