SPECT/CT Evaluation of Unusual Physiologic Radioiodine Biodistributions: Pearls and Pitfalls in Image Interpretation

The emerging role of SPECT/CT in depicting physiologic uptake of radioiodine, normal variants, and disease mimics is discussed, and a spectrum of imaging findings is presented, with emphasis on recognizing benign biodistributions of radioiodine in the head, neck, thorax, abdomen, and pelvis.
