Goat production in the World: present situation and trends

Goatnumbersintheworldduringtheperiod2000-2013wereincreasedby33.8%,withAsiatokeepconstantlythefirstplacehavingacontributionabout59.4%.Worldgoatmilkproductionwasincreasedby39.2%duringtheperiod2000-2012.Inallcontinents,withexceptionEurope,wasobservedasignificantincreaseinmilkproduction.Oceaniahadthespectacularincreaseof71.4%.ThelargerproducersofgoatmilkintheworldareIndia,Bangladesh,PakistanandSudan.Worldgoatmeatproduction,duringthesameperiodwasincreasedby41.66%.Asiahasthelargercontributioninthetotalmeatproduction(70.7%).TheleadercountryingoatmeatproductionisChinathatproduces35.89%ofthetotalworldgoatmeatproduction.Themeangoatcarcassweightinworldlevelis12.0%withsignificantvariationamongthecontinentsanddifferentcountries.ThecarcasseswithhigherweightareproducedinOceania.Worldwidegoatrawskinproductionduringtheaboveperiodwasincreasedby44.93%withthegreaterincreaseinOceania(116.39%).AmongcountriesthelargerproducersofgoatskinsareChina,followedbyIndia,JordanandPakistan.
