Theappropriatedeterminationofdesignflowtohydraulicsystemsforwatersupplyinfreshwaterfishfarmingcultureisahighlyrelevanttechnicalitem,becauseitwillallowthereplacementofevaporationandseepagewaterloses,maintainingthedesiredliquidlevels,thefillingofcultureunitsinreasonableperiodsoftime,andinsomecases,thewaterflowdemandtocoverthebiologicalrequirementsoftheculturedspecies.Thehydraulicinfrastructuredimensioningprojectsforfreshwaterfishculturemustaddressthewaterbudgetrelatedissuesinacomprehensiveandrigorouswayinaccordancewithproductiveandoperationalfacts,because,becauseanoverdimensioningwillbeassociatedtooverrunandaninefficientuseoftheliquid;thesubdimensioningimplieswaterqualityandquantitylimitations,whichaffectstheproduction.Themainobjectiveofthisarticlewastopresentthedifferentconceptsandcriteriathatshouldbesimultaneouslyinvolvedintheappropriatedesignflowcalculationsforafishculturefarm,andsomereflectionsthatinducesthedesignertosolvetheproblemwithamoreambitiousapproachthanthedefinedbyasimplewaterbudget,supportedbyaconsiderablenumberofspecializedbibliographicreferences.
