Theexperimentwascarriedoutinnbsp;thefarmoftheFacultyofAgriculture(AnimalScienceDepartment),situatedabout7KmfromLuangprabangCity,Luangprabangprovince,LaosPDR.Fourcrossbredcastratedmalepigs(DurocxLargeWhite),weighingonaverage25kg,wereallottedatrandomto4dietswithina4*4Latinsquaredesign,tostudyeffectsondigestibilityandNretentionoflevelofricedistillers#8217;by-productnbsp;(0,10,20,30%inDM)replacingnbsp;ensiledTarofoliage(leavesandstems)nbsp;inabasaldietofricebran.FeedintakeandNretentionwereincreased,butapparentdigestibilityofDMwasreducedwithnodifferencesincrudeproteindigestibility,asthenbsp;ricedistillers#8217;by-productnbsp;replacedensiledTarofoliage.nbsp;DailyretentionofNandNretainedaspercentofNdigestedincreasedlinearlywithreplacementofTarofoliagesilagebyricedistiller'sby-productandricebran.Itissuggestedthatthebiologicalvalueoftheproteininricedistillers'nbsp;by-productissuperiortothatofnbsp;ensiledTarofoliage.
