InthepresentstudyoccurrenceofVibrioparahaemolyticusinfinfishesandshellfishescollectedfromdifferentecosystemnamelymarine,brackishandfreshwaterwereinvestigated.Atotalof162sampleswerecollectedandsubjectedtobatteryofstandardbiochemicaltestforidentificationofVibrioparahaemolyticus,outofwhich38sampleswerefoundtobepositive.TodetectthepathogenicityoftheidentifiedisolatesKanagawareactionwasperformed.Among38isolates,5werefoundtobepositiveforKanagawareaction.Antibiogramresultsshowedthatallthestrainsweresensitivetochloramphenicalandcotrimoxazole.
