Adoption behaviour of the dairy farmers in relation to artificial insemination in co-operative farming system

ThepresentstudywascarriedoutinselectedGaighataandBagdahblocksofNorth-24Pgsdistrict,WestBengal.Fromeachblock,25percent(approximately)oftheVillageLevelMilkCo-operativeSocietieswereselectedrandomly.Fromeachoftheselectedmilkco-operativesocietiesfourdairyfarmerswereselectedrandomlyoutofwhichbothMemberCo-operativeSociety(MCS)andNon-memberCo-operativeSociety(NMCS)weretwoinnumber.nbsp;Directface-to-faceinterviewmethodwithstructuredschedulewasfollowedforthepurposeofdatacollection.ThestudyrevealedthatadoptionofAIishighlycorrelatedwithallthesocio-psychologicalvariablesinbothMCSandNMCS.ItalsorevealedthatallthecommunicationvariableswerehavingsignificantcorrelationwithadoptionofAIbothinMCSandNMCSexcepttheurbancontactinMCS.Amongsocio-economicvariablesagewashavingsignificantnegativecorrelationwithadoptionofAI.Onpathanalysis,innovationpronenessandknowledgeaboutde-wormingwereshowntobethekeyvariablesthatdirectlyandindirectlyinfluencedtheadoptionofAIinMCSandNMCSrespectively.
