Theobjectiveofthisstudywastodeterminetheeffectofwaterspinachassourceofsolubleprotein,andofbiocharassupportforbiofilms,onmethaneproductioninaninvitroincubationsystemusingleavesofBauhiniaacuminataandAzadirachtaindicaasthesubstrate.Foreachsourceofleaves,theexperimentaldesignwasa2*2factorialarrangementof4treatmentswithfourreplications.Measurementsweremadeoftotalgas,percentmethaneinthegasandDMandNsolubilized,atintervalsof6,12,18and24h.GasproductionandpercentsubstratesolubilizedwereincreasedbywaterspinachonbothBauhiniaandBitterNeem.Bycontrast,waterspinachdidnotaffectmethaneproductiononBauhiniabutincreaseditonBitterNeem.Biocharsupplementationhadnoeffectontotalgasandmethaneproduction.
