Evaluation of mineral adequacy of natural browse species and concentrate ingredients for goats

Presentstudywasconductedtoestimatethemineralcontentsoffewnovelfeedstuffsforgoatsandtofindoutthemineraladequacy/deficiencyinbrowing/grazingsituationsunderruralconditions.nbsp;nbsp;Seventeenleafsamplesfromtreesnbsp;andbusheswerecollectedintwodifferentperiodsoftheyear.TheCaandFecontentswerenbsp;nbsp;lowerinsummerleaveswhereasPandCuwasnbsp;nbsp;higherinsummerleavescomparedtowinterleaves.Seventeensamplesoftreeleavesandbushes,sevensamplesofroughagesandseventeensamplesofconcentrateingredientswereanalyzedformacro(Ca,P,Mg)andmicronbsp;(Zn,Cu,FeandMn)minerals.StatisticalanalysisbetweendifferentcategoriesoffeedingredientsrevealedthattheCaandMgcontents(%)werenbsp;nbsp;higherintreeleavescomparedtoroughagesandconcentrateswhereascontentsofP(%)andZn(ppm)wasnbsp;(P0.01)higherinconcentrates.AmodelcalculationsuggestedthedeficiencyofP,Zn,CuandMninsoleleucaenaandneemleafbaseddietswhereasdeficiencyofPandMninsolebuffelgrassdietsforgoats.nbsp;
