Astudywasundertakentoassessappropriatefibrolyticenzymesinclusiononinvitrorumenfermentationpatternofpaddystraw.Enzymaticreleaseofmonosaccharidesfrompaddystrawleadtoconcludethatmixtureof80IUofcellulaseand100IUofxylanasearerequiredpergramdrymatterofpaddystrawtomaximizethenutritivevalue.Theeffectofpredigestionofpaddystrawwiththesefibrolyticenzymeswasexaminedbyallowingenzymestoreactwithsubstratefor24hours(ETPS)andcomparedagainstsupplementationofthesefibrolyticenzymes(ESPS),apositivecontrol-watersprayingalone(WSPS)wasincludedintheexperimentaldesign.nbsp;Invitrogasproductionstudieswereusedtoevaluatetheefficacyofthevarioustreatmentsofpaddystraw.ThecumulativegasproductionmeasurementsmadeatdifferenthoursofincubationrevealedthatETPSwasproducinggashigherthanESPS.Thevolatilefattyacidsanditsstoichiometricderivationsandfractionationofgasdidnotyieldanystatisticaldifferenceamongtreatmentsexperimented.Thepartitionfactorderivedat48hoursofincubationsuggestedacomparableresultinETPS(3.97)andESPS(3.79)butweresignificantly(P0.05)higherthanWSPS(3.62)andcontrol(3.57).Themeasurementonapparentdrymatter,truedrymatterdigestibilityandmicrobialbiomassproductionat48hoursrevealedthatETPSwascomparabletoUTPSandbothwerestatistically(P0.05)betterthanESPS,whiletheWSPSorcontrolwereinferiorontheaboveparametersstudied.Thedigestibilityoffiberfractionsmeasurementsmadeat48hoursincubationrevealedthatETPSwassuperior(P0.01)overUTPS.nbsp;nbsp;Fromthestudyitwasconcludedthatmaximummonosaccharidescanbereleasedfrompaddystrawwhenitistreatedwithcellulaseandxylanase(80and100IUpergDM)for24hours.EnzymetreatmentofpaddystrawremarkablyimprovesdigestibilityofDMandfiberfractions,howeverenzymesupplementationislesseffectivecomparedtoenzymetreatmentofpaddystraw.
