Utilización de una aplicación móvil para el fomento de la adherencia terapéutica en la hipertensión arterial en atención primaria

Introduction: Arterial hypertension is a chronic disease. In Spain, arterial hypertension affects about 14 millions, which approximately 9,5 millions of people are not controlled. After a preliminary study, through interviews with nurses of two health care center of Cadiz, we confirmed that the greatest difficulty for the HTA control is the monitoring of the non-pharmacologic treatment, those regarding lifestyle changes. Therefore, the importance of development of this research study. Objective: To compare the efficacy of an approach based on empowerment, training and provision of various useful resources for patients with arterial hypertension with a traditional approach on primary health care office, on adhesion to therapeutic regimen, specifically on lifestyle measurements. Methods: Quasi-experimental study with intervention and control group, randomly assigned. In this study patients diagnosed with arterial hypertension and attended on health care center will participate. Our intervention design is based on the installation of mobile application “Mi HTA” and giving a pedometer to all participants belonging to intervention group; in addition, participants receive health education including on traditional approach.
