:Objective To observe the effect of disease-specific nursing activities in smoking cessation for lung cancer patients after discharge from the hospital. Methods 〓Totally 60 lung cancer patients were assigned to the control group and the study group, with 30 cases in each group. The extended care and smoking cessation interventions were carried out during the follow-up, and disease-specific nursing activities were implemented in the study group. The nicotine dependence, smoking cessation rate and smoking cessation awareness were compared between two groups. Results 〓The Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence(FTND)was(2.90±0.76)in the study group and(4.50±1.22)in the control group, with a significant difference(P0.05). The rate of short-term and mid-term smoking cessation in the study group was 90.00%(27/30)and 76.67%(26/30), higher than 46.67%(14/30)and 43.33%(13/30), respectively(P0.05). Patients in the study group achieved a higher score of smoking cessation knowledge assessment compared with those in the control group after follow-up(P0.05). Conclusion 〓The disease-specific nursing activities are potentially effective to enhance the smoking cessation awareness of lung cancer patients, in order to help them quit smoking.
