:Objective To observe the analgesic effect of cold compress dressings in patients after laser-assisted sub-epithelial keratectomy(LASEK). Methods 〓Totally 40 patients undergoing LASEK were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 20 cases in each group. Patients in both two groups received routine care during perioperative period, and those in the observation group were given cold compress dressings after LASEK. The postoperative pain degree was evaluated by McGill Pain Questionnaire(MPQ). Results 〓Patients in the observation group had a lower level of pain compared with that in the control group at 24, 48 and 72 hours after the LASEK, respectively(P0.05). Conclusion 〓Application of cold compress dressings is potentially effective to relieve the pain after LASEK.
