Abstract:Objective To evaluate the passivation in cleaning of loaned orthopedic instruments with lumen tube. Methods 〓Totally 660 cases of loaned orthopedic instruments with lumen tube used in proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA)surgery were randomly divided into the observation group(n=328)and the control group(n=332). In the control group, loaned orthopedic instruments were washed by multi-enzyme solution in the ultrasonic cleaning machine after pre-washed. In the observation group, the instruments were passivated by ultra-short laser pulses additionally. The cleaning effect of loaned orthopedic instruments was evaluated and compared between two groups. Results 〓The qualification rate of cleaning was higher in the observation group than that of controls by naked-eye visual inspection, magnifier visual inspection, gauze wiping method, respectively(P0.01). Conclusion 〓The passivation process can improve the cleaning quality of loaned orthopedic instruments with lumen tube. It can protect orthopedic instruments from being corroded by forming a passivation film.
