Abstract：The preparation of medicated serum is one of the key procedures for exploring mechanisms of medicated food in vitro experiment. Based on the National Natural Science Foundation project entitled “Effect of medicated food QiYaoJiJinZhou for Tight Junction Proteins in 5-FU induced Gastrointestinal Mucositis: Role of TLR4/NF-κB Pathway”(No. 81403446). This paper summarized the experience of preparing medicated food-serum sample in vitro experiment. Five aspects were introduced in this paper, including the selection of animals, identification of dosage regimen, identification of appropriate time point for taking blood sampling, inactivation and storage of serum and study limitations and implications. This paper intended to provide some implications for researchers who are interested in similar research topics in the areas of traditional medicine nursing.
