Chronic Tracheostomy Balloon Hyperinflation Resulting in Tracheo-Intervertebral Disk Fistula

We report a fistulous communication from the trachea to the intervertebral disk space in a patient with a chronic tracheostomy and review the complications of tracheostomy tubes. To the best of our knowledge, this complication has never been described.
